Broadway, Off-Broadway and Beyond

The off-Broadway is famous for dramas, has smaller audience size (100-499) and is present all over Manhattan, especially Downtown and Theater District. There are some Off-Off-Broadway shows that run in other boroughs like Brooklyn giving chance to new voices and performers, and offer much cheaper tickets (sometimes $15).

Ticket Timing

Plan on purchasing tickets at-least few weeks in advance if it’s a popular and a long-running show. Summer, weekends, Christmas season and other holidays are mostly busy and carry a premium price on tickets. But mid-week shows between January till the end of March are less crowded than those performed on the weekends. There are many ways to purchase tickets, you can go online and check for the websites offering discounts or go to TKTS Ticket booth at Times Square that offers last moment tickets at 20 to 50 percent discount. Remember that shows on Saturdays usually require advance bookings.

Fueling Up

These Time Square restaurants also offer pre-theater meals with a prix-fixe menu ranging from $20-$40 depending on the time of the day. Reservations take place at least 90 minutes before the show because of meal courses. You can also grab meals on-the-go or dine at any theater district restaurants nyc with your choice of food and course. Make sure you tell them your curtain time in advance and be present for your show at-least 15 minutes before your scheduled time at the theater.

Seeing Stars

Post-show autographs, group pictures and selfies with the performers have become a popular part of Broadway culture. And, if you are expecting to take one, be prepared with a good pen, an autograph book or your phone/camera at the end of the show. For a starry shot with a big-name celeb, make sure to ask them before you snap or wait for the door manager to make an announcement for the photo policy.
