7 Must-See NYC Tour Bus Attractions
Visitors to New York will find themselves with a long list of things to see and do, and an NYC tour bus can help you make the most of your time. The bus will take you by the most popular attractions along with some others and give you information along the way. When choosing the bus (or busses) you want to take, make sure you will be able to take in the following attractions.
Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is a truly impressive sight and is easily spotted from an NYC tour bus. It took 11 months to finish and stands 1,454 feet tall, meaning it was the tallest in the city when it was constructed in 1931. If you are on a hop on hop off bus, get out and check out the lobby. Otherwise, just admire the amazing architecture.
Chrysler Building
Another structure you don’t have to get off your NYC tour bus to admire is the Chrysler Building. Many consider this Art Deco structure to be the most eye-popping skyscraper in the city with its triangle-shaped windows at the top. You should be able to see it on nearly all tours.
Brooklyn Bridge
Try to choose an NYC bus tour that takes you across the Brooklyn Bridge, which shouldn’t be a challenge. It opened back in 1883 and was the first structure crossing the East River. It also was the longest of all suspension bridges in the world at the time. When crossing it, check out the view of the Statue of Liberty.
Statue of Liberty
Speaking of the Statue of Liberty, that is another sight you can’t miss. While the best view is from a boat, you can also get a very impressive view on a bus, particularly if you are driving across a bridge. This amazing statue was completed in 1886 as a gift from France and has stood tall ever since.
Metropolitan Museum of Art
The exhibits aren’t the only things that make the Metropolitan Museum of Art impressive; so does its architecture. The neoclassical façade is easy to enjoy from your NYC tour bus. If you can, spend a few hours inside, as well.
9/11 Memorial
The 9/11 Memorial can easily be admired from your NYC tour bus, and it stands in the area that the Twin Towers used to be. Michael Arad designed the twin reflecting pools, which are lined with the 3,000 names of those who died in the attacks, including those of rescue personnel.
Rockefeller Center
The Rockefeller Center can’t be missed on a trip to New York. Luckily, you should be able to see it with ease from your NYC tour bus. In the winter, you will see the famed ice-skating rink, but it is worth a look year-round.
