Where to Find a Free NYC Bathroom
When you spend your day driving around, finding an NYC bathroom can become a challenging task. It’s a little awkward to just walk into a random restaurant to use the restroom. You won’t find any in the subway areas either. Luckily, there are still quite a few public spots in the city that you can go to if you need to use the bathroom.
Manhattan
There are a variety of public restrooms in Manhattan, so it shouldn’t be too much of a hassle to find an NYC bathroom close to your location. A few public bathrooms are near the Abraham Lincoln Playground, the Alexander Hamilton Playground, and the High Line. You can also find some near Central Park, Broadway Malls, Chelsea Park, and Columbus Park. Check online to find more locations.
Brooklyn
In Brooklyn, you will find a bathroom at many locations. Go to the Benson Playground, Betsy Head Park, Brower Park, or Cadman Plaza Park. Alternatively, you could visit Columbus Park, Fulton Park, or Jacky Robinson Park.
Available Non-Public Bathrooms
Aside from the public bathrooms listed by the NYC parks department, there are a variety of other places that you can go to if you need to use the restroom. The easiest way to get access to an NYC bathroom for free is through hotels or stores. A lot of hotels have bathrooms in their lobby. Some hotels are actually so pretty that you could pay them a visit just to see the interior design inside. Hotels like these include the Waldorf Astoria, the Soho Grand Hotel, the Marriott Marquis, and the Ace Hotel. You can also go to a large department store such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Barnes & Nobles, or Macy’s. They usually have restrooms for their customers. Coffee shops can also be a good option, but some might make you buy something first.
