Where to go Ice Skating in NYC

As winter sets in, and holiday cheer spreads throughout the city, many will be looking to celebrate the season with their favorite winter activities. Ice skating at Rockefeller Center is almost an iconic tradition that many people want to take part in, but only if you’re brave enough to skate for a crowd. If you want to spend some time on the ice, but with less people watching, here’s where to go ice skating in NYC.

Wollman Rink

Located near the South End of Central Park, skating at Wollman Rink is a winter tradition for both tourists and locals. The rink opened in 1950, and has been featured in a variety of movies such as Serendipity.

Price: Monday-Thursday: $11.25 for Adults, $6 for Children

Friday-Saturday: $18 for Adults, $6 for Children

Skates are available to rent for $8.

Bryant Park

The Bank of America Winter Village in Bryant Park features a 170’ x 100’ skating rink each winter. The admission for ice skating is free, and skates can be rented for a fee. In addition, you can enjoy hot chocolate from the snackbar and do some shopping when you’re done. Be prepared to wait. Since its free admission, the line gets really long.

Price: Admission: Free

Skates are available to rent for $20.
