Within New York City and the surrounding boroughs, there are over 50 different museums you can visit. Metropolitan Museum of Art

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum
This museum contains a very eclectic collection of design. Having pieces which range over 3,000 years, they have various pieces which include a large snail shell, a perpetual calendar, a dragon and a cone which is propped up on a bench, just to name a few. One of the interactive museums in NYC, they encourage you to look at all the information you can find, and see if you can find some connections which have been missed by others. Not only this, but you can also retrieve your visit online once you have visited, so the memories will be able to last a lifetime. There are both public and private tours which are available for you, depending upon how in depth you want to get. The latest phase this museum opened is the Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden, which is a rare piece of green space within Manhattan, and is open to the public year round Monday – Friday.

Any Youth who is 18 and younger and is accompanied by an adult can enter for free.
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
This museums focus is to help preserve, collect and interpret as much modern and contemporary art across various cultural channels. The art through this organization can be found not on in New York City, but also in Venice, Bilbao and Abu Dhabi. This New York City museum was established by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1939. This museum hosts a vast amount of special exhibits, as well as inviting in various experts within the art and architecture community. There are classes available for people of all ages, along with various different screenings and exhibits you cannot find anywhere else.

$25 for Adults, $18 for Seniors who are over 65 and for College Students with a valid ID.
Children who are under 12 are Free, when accompanied by an adult.
National September 11th Memorial & Museum
This memorial and museum is located at the former site of the twin towers in the heart of New York City. There are numerous guided tours given throughout the day, which will give you an in depth knowledge of various events from that tragic day. These tours can either be 45 minutes, or 60 minutes, depending upon how much time you have. There is a charge of $15 for the 45 minute tour, and $20 for the 60 minute tour. You can visit the museum, where you can see various exhibits which goes into the travesty of that day, as well as the heroic efforts of others. The memorial has many interesting features, including the Survivor Tree, which is a tree which survived thru the devastation of that day despite all the rubble around it. There are constantly free programs taking place here, and you can go online and look ahead to see what is scheduled on any particular day to help you decide on the right day to visit.

$24 for Adults, $18 for Seniors who are 65 and older, US Veterans and for College Students with valid ID’s. $15 for Children who are between the ages of 7-17.

New York Hall of Science
At any given time, there are over 450 different workshops, exhibits, demonstrations and activities for people of all ages to participate in. These different features allow you to explore various aspects of science to the depth and degree you feel comfortable with. This museum is intended to be very interactive, and strive towards being a place for people of all ages and occupations to develop their own skills in science.
